Women's March | Who We Are
Women’s March is a women-led movement committed to dismantling systems of oppression and creating social change through nonviolent resistance. This piece explains what the Women’s March is and as a movement what they stand for.
I used the existing Women’s March branding to create a powerful, unwavering, and gritty feel. The message should stand clear and stark.
The script is adapted from the Women's March's Mission & Vision page and their Unity Principles page from their website womensmarch.com.
We stand together in solidarity with our partners and children for the protection of our rights, our safety, our health, and our families - recognizing that our vibrant and diverse communities are the strength of our country.
We stand together, recognizing that defending the most marginalized among us is defending all of us.
We support the advocacy and resistance movements that reflect our multiple and intersecting identities. We call on all defenders of human rights to join us. We will not rest until women have parity and equity at all levels of leadership in society. We work peacefully while recognizing there is no true peace without justice and equity for all.
We believe that Women’s Rights are Human Rights and Human Rights are Women’s Rights. We practice empathy with the intent to learn about the intersecting identities of each other. We must create a society in which women are free and able to care for and nurture their families, however they are formed, in safe and healthy environments.
We are working towards reproductive rights, LGBTQIA rights, worker’s rights, civil rights, disability rights, immigrant rights, environmental justice, and ending violence.
Who are we? We are the Women's March on Washington.
